About Us
Alaska Seeds of Change is a hydroponic farm in midtown Anchorage. Our mission is to employ and empower youth, promoting self-reliance and community involvement as well as to grow and sell fresh produce. We hire young adults ages 16-24 to work in our hydroponic greenhouse. We teach job skills, life skills, and social responsibility. Youth participate in all aspects of running our urban agriculture business from planting to harvesting and selling in the community.
Alaska Seeds of Change uses a vertical hydroponic system to maximize our use of space and minimize our carbon footprint. We grow leafy greens and herbs for the Anchorage Food Hub, local restaurants, farmers markets and grocery stores. Crops include kale, lettuce, basil, dill, chives, and more. We are committed to building a vibrant and food-secure local community by providing fresh, local produce all year long. Want to try the rest of our produce or speak with our youth and learn more about us? Currently our produce is for sale every Wednesday at the Airport Heights Farmers Market from 3pm-7pm and every Saturday at the Spenard Farmers Market from 9am-2pm.
