About Us
Owner and operator Carey Restino, along with her 13-year-old son Liam and 9-year-old daughter Théa started farming their land 5 miles above Homer on Diamond Ridge 10 years ago and have gradually expanded their operation each year. In 2012, they put up a 2,100-square-foot high tunnel to further enhance the many plastic-covered hoop houses already in operation. The following year, the farm began its first foray into commercial sales, growing its customer base each year. In 2015, the farm fed 15-20 Homer families each week, as well as themselves, their farm helpers and many guests.
The goal of Homer Hilltop Farm is to produce highly nutritious vegetables at a reasonable cost for anyone in the community while maintaining a quality of life that allows us to enjoy Alaska’s amazing summers.
Practices
Homer Hilltop Farm grows its vegetables using organic farming practices aimed at supporting the natural health of the soil.
