Owner and operator Carey Restino, along with her Liam and daughter Théa started farming their land 5 miles above Homer on Diamond Ridge 12 years ago and have gradually expanded their operation each year. In 2012, they put up a 2,100-square-foot high tunnel to further enhance the many plastic-covered hoop houses already in operation. The following year, the farm began its first foray into commercial sales, growing its customer base each year. They have since expanded into mixed flower bouquets using peonies and other mixed blooms.
The goal of Homer Hilltop Farm is to produce highly nutritious vegetables at a reasonable cost for anyone in the community while maintaining a quality of life that allows us to enjoy Alaska’s amazing summers.
